What is the balkan?

The Balkan uses a computerised and fully motorised system to reinvent resistance and strength training. It is a resistance exercise technology providing a safe, controlled and trackable training programme to its users. It replaces traditional weight lifting and allows a higher quality and more well rounded strength training not possible in a normal gym setting.

CAN I DO IT MORE THAN ONCE A WEEK?

Research shows that coming in more frequently actually slows the results of osteogenic loading and bone density increases. Ideally, members hit loads of 4 x body weight or more, triggering bone adaptations and these adaptations require time to grow. If members come more than once a week they can overload the adaptation and slow the process down.
Once a week can sometimes be too much for some people and their bone and muscles adaptations plateau, in this case they need more rest time for these changes to take place and so you would extend the break between sessions further.

Will I BE SORE AFTERWARDS?

You may get a little soreness and DOMS (Delayed onset of muscle soreness) the day after but this is normal and a sign that you worked hard. After a day or so, you shouldn't have any lasting soreness. 

CAN I TRY IT FOR FREE TO SEE IF I LIKE IT?

Yes! We want you to experience a free session so that you can see how quickly your body will respond to our system. Within your initial call with us we will schedule a time for your session.

CAN I USE THE BALKAN ALONGSIDE OTHER EXERCISE?

Yes, and you will see great results if you do both. However, it is recommended that you not do a workout immediately prior or after your Balkan session and ensure you give yourself atleast 2/3 days between the Balkan and a workout to allow the muscles to repair and grow.
We encourage you to continue to do mobility and flexibility work and also cardiovascular activities around the Balkan to help with overall wellness. 
 
Remember, The Balkan strengthens your skeletal system and your muscular system, but you will notice huge differences in overall fitness too and your cardiovascular health will improve.

can i use the balkan if i have injuries or osteoporosis?

The Balkan is extremely safe, customisable and has helped many people recover from various injuries. It becomes a great element to any rehab programme. However, we recommend sign off from a doctor before commencing sessions if you have an acute injury. Yes, those with osteoporosis are safe to use the Balkan and even people with a T-score of -4 on scans can enjoy sessions with The Balkan. As with all medical conditions, we again encourage people to consult with their doctor prior to starting sessions on The Balkan.
